How it Works

The Dyeing Rivers water filtration system is a structure that is mounted on the outside of a denim textile factory. Waste water enters our system of PVC pipes where the water trickles through sand to slow the flow rate and allow aniline degrading bacteria to eat away the dyes, typically aniline blue and indigo, used for denim. A biofilm of bacteria forms at each pipe intersection, without sand, to help slow water and feed the dye to bacteria. Water will then exit our pipe system cleaner and healthier for the environment.
